FAMILY AND SOCIAL HISTORY – for complete beginners
This course is designed as a starting point to introduce you to family history research using the Internet and other resources.
This is a chance to catch up with your ancestors or anyone else’s and can be tailored to your needs. We will show you how and where to search for your family or trace the grave of a relative killed in the world wars.
We will look at a number of different sites, such as the Ancestory.com, which directs you to other sources of information to help you research your family tree. You may also be interested in finding old photographs or maps of the town or village where your family lived.
On the other hand, you may not want to trace your family history, but would like to find out more about the regiment, ship or organisation you or a family member served with during the war. You may be interested in some famous or historical person or place, there is a wealth of information on the World Wide Web, just waiting for you to find it!
