Gillingham Seniors Forum

Gillingham Seniors Forum is a voice for seniors living in the SP8 area.  Monthly meetings are held at Gillingham Town Hall on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 2pm.  Everyone welcome!

At the meeting held on the 9th February, Chris Kippax, Project Manager at Dorset County Council, gave a talk on 'Total Place', a pilot scheme in Dorset that has taken a look at all services for older people in Dorset, Bournemouth and Poole to see if they can be streamlined.  This would ensure those services provide the most effective services at no extra cost.

On the 9th March, Councillor David Milsted will speak on:

*  106 money.  This is money contractors can make available to the community when they build.  How does this work for Gillingham?

*  Westminster Hospital and its future.  How will it effect Gillingham residents?

*  The Credit Union

Currently, the Forum is making responses to 3 Government consultation documents on Personal Care at Home; NHS car parking; Age equality in Health & Social Care.
