Coronation 1937

Writes Peggy Voss...

CelebrationPV1937CoronationsouvenirThis picture was taken at school when I was 9.

It was a colour photo which was very rare then.

The school was in Icen Way, but is no longer there.

It was taken in 1937, when the king and queen were being crowned.

We were all dressed up for the Coronation.

I think my mum cut my hair, we didn’t go to the hairdressers in those days.

There were lots of things going on in the town.
