Please bring them into Age Concern Dorchester to be exchanged or contact Lucy or Hilary on 01305 269444 to arrange an exchange.

If you have not purchased one yet and would like to, rest assured it will not contain this error.

 

   

Learn How To Make A Radio Programme for Free!

radiomikeThere is an exciting opportunity for the over 50s to learn how to make a radio programme with a tutor from the BBC.  This free training has been organised by national Age UK and Age Concern Dorchester.  There are 15 places available and people must be able to attend both sessions.  The first session is on the 13th of September, from 10am to 3.30pm at the History Centre in Dorchester, where people will learn how to use the recording equipment and interviewing techniques. On the 22nd September at 1.45pm, a radio programme will be recorded at Age Concern Dorchester with members of the Evergreens social group recalling their memories of going to the pictures.

Age Concern Dorchester invites you...

memCalendarThumb... to take a ‘Walk back in time’ with its nostalgic calendar for 2011.

As part of the charity’s on-line project ‘Dorset’s Living Memories’, thirteen photographs  have been selected  and perfectly illustrate Dorset of bygone age from the 1930s to the 1960’s making this a  stunning calendar to grace anyone ‘s home.

Margaret Wellspring, Project Manager says “All these wonderful photographs have come from local people’s own collections and really sum up 20th Century life in the county, from a personal point of view”.

Joyce Ray, from Dorchester who’s 1932 school photo graces October said “It’s really exciting, who’d thought I’d be a ‘Calendar Girl” at 87 years old!”

Other pictures featured include, days out in Weymouth, haymaking at Grimstone and even a wartime wedding.

The  ‘Dorset Living Memories’ calendar is available now from Age  concern Dorchester, 4 Prince of Wales Road, Dorchester DT1 1PW, priced £4.99 + £1 p & p.

All proceeds from the calendar will go to help provide services for local older people.
