Here Wii go again! - Itea and biscuits week
Age Concern Dorchester are again in the forefront of offering something new and exciting for older people during the nationwide Itea and biscuits week. This year the charity is giving anyone over 50 the opportunity to play hi-tech tennis, bowls and other sports on a Nintendo Wii.
Margaret Wellspring, IT Activities Manager said:
“IT these days is not just about computers but a diverse range of technologies, and many more people want to keep up with their grandchildren, so that’s where IT and biscuits week can help by filling the gaps in their knowledge”.
Mrs Wellspring added:
“So this year thanks to Help the Aged for donating all the kit we need, we are able to bring Wii Sports to the older people in the area, it and biscuits week will be joining forces with our Fit as a Fiddle project which promotes physical activities to bring you Here Wii go again!"
John Yonwin, Age Concern Dorchester’s Fit as a Fiddle Co-odinator will be running the sessions which start at 10.00am on Thursday 24th September at the Charity’s centre, Rowan Cottage, 4 Prince of Wales Road, Dorchester. Admission is free there is no need to book and of course tea and biscuits will be available.
